Omega Air Takes Delivery of Royal Netherlands Air Force KDC-10

Omega Air took delivery of the first of two former Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF) KDC-10 aircraft on Monday, November 4, 2019 in San Antonio, Texas. The KDC-10 will join the Omega fleet as the company’s first boom-equipped tanker. Omega owns and operates a small fleet of tanker aircraft, with four different tanker configurations approved to support Navy and Marine Corps aircraft, and has the ability to add numerous additional tanker aircraft as needed.

Entire Omega Air Fleet Now Certified to Refuel the F-35 Lightning II

This August, following testing at NAS Patuxent River, Maryland, Omega Air KC-707 aircraft were certified to refuel all F-35B/C variants of the F-35 Lightning II. The Omega KDC-10 aircraft has been certified since 2017. Today, the company’s entire fleet now stands ready to support this state-of-the-art aircraft worldwide in any conditions.

Omega Aerial Refueling Services, Inc. has announced that Ed Boullianne has retired as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer, as of the end of June 2019, after 10 years at the company. His duties and responsibilities will be shared by Anton Nerad as Executive Vice President and Ryan Murphy as Senior Vice President, Finance.

Omega KDC-10 Supports Boeing Mission to Win Swiss Air Force Flight Evaluation Testing Competition

This May, Omega Aerial Refueling Services, Inc. conducted a transatlantic mission supporting the deployment of two F-18F Super Hornets flown by a combination of Navy and Boeing test pilots to Payerne Air Base, Switzerland for the Swiss Air Force Flight Evaluation Testing mission. Omega’s KDC-10 provided AAR support to the mission and carried mission essential equipment and personnel from both Boeing and the US Navy.

Omega KC-707 Supports VMM-268 MV-22 Ospreys Redeploying from Guam to Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii

An Omega KC-707 supporting Exercise VALIANT SHIELD at Anderson AFB, Guam refueled a fleet of eight U.S. Marine Corps MV-22 Ospreys of the VMM-268 Red Dragons en route across the Pacific, allowing them to complete a long, overwater retrograde flight to return home to Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii, after providing Marine Rotational Forces – Darwin (MRF-D) support in Darwin, Australia.

First Unmanned In-Flight Refueling

On April 22, 2015 an Omega KC-707 tanker successfully offloaded 4,100 pounds of fuel to the X-47B UCAS, surpassing U.S. Navy program goals. This demonstration marked the first time in history that an unmanned aircraft has successfully been refueled air-to-air, and is a ground-breaking step forward that will help determine the path of naval aviation in years to come.
